Welcome Fantasy Football fans to the first ever installment of Shout!  Because this is the first ever issue, I'll start by giving you a little background on myself.  This is my fifth year of fantasy football.  I have won my league every year so far and am currently in second place with a 7-2 record.  I spend quite a bit of time online each week, about 3 hours a day for fantasy football alone.  If you email me I will probably be able to get back to you within a few hours.  So here goes:
Is it me, or is this season one of the most unpredictable seasons in recent years?  I mean sure, who wouldn't have said that Green Bay, San Fran and Denver would have great teams?  But who the heck would have said that the Vikes would only have one loss at the half way point?  And what's up with the NFC East.  Talk about your screwed up divisions.   When your division leader is only two games over .500 you know that division sucks.   Speaking of screwed up divisions, the AFC East is a MESS!!  Only the 1-7 Colts have no prayer.  Oakland has the second best record in the AFC and the third best record overall.  There have been so many benched QBs that I truly wouldn't be shocked to see Favre or Young sitting soon.  I hope that their respective coaches don't get drawn into the madness.  Doug Flutie and Randall Cunningham are both leading their teams to victory while drawing their Social Security checks.  And if ONE more of my starters go down with a big injury I'm going to scream.  I think that I'M tougher than Isaac Bruce and Terry Glenn.  There have been some nice surprises as Steve Young has bounced back from a sub-par season and Jamal Anderson has transformed into a true STUD.  Anyone who is disappointed be Kordell Stewart's performance is just fooling themselves if they think that it's going to EVER get better.  Kordell just isn't a QB.  He has lots of athletic ability but he doesn't have the brains or the patience.   If you wasted a pick on Ryan Leaf I feel really bad for you.  Don't plan on him being great any time soon.  He has a LOT of growing up to do and he won't do that with an organization that won't give him the support staff.  The Broncos look pretty high and mighty right now which leads me to believe that they'll falter once they get into the playoffs.  When you're looking to the second half of this season expect a lot of confusion as to who will be the starting QBs as injured QBs are ready to return and other teams continue to lose.  Look for some teams to appear to "break out" as their second half schedule is easier than their first half i.e. the Bengals.  San Fran has a much easier schedule in the second half and will return to blowing out opponents.   There will be much more predictability in the second half of the season except for the aforementioned QB situations.  GOOD LUCK EVERYBODY!
